SECRETS TO UNDERSTANDING YOUR CHILD’S BEHAVIOR

The secret to a child’s behavior is their belief system.  A child’s belief system controls their thoughts, the words they speak and the actions they practice habitually. Our children are picture thinkers and therefore easily affected by their environment.

A positive environment is critical for children to develop and grow with excellence.  A negative environment can be highly toxic and will pollute a child’s belief system. A child’s attitude about life will always reflect the temperature of the home environment.

The behavior of a child is their belief system exposed.  A child’s belief system is made up of choices (good or bad).   The ability to think like a winner or to think like a victim is connected to the dial of the child’s mindset.

A child’s thoughts about themself is more important than their behavior.  Reacting to a child’s negative behavior using punishment magnifies the behavior.  Visit the detention center at your child’s school or our youth prisons to see how this technique works.

The high level of suspension for children unable to control their behavior away from home has risen over the years and can cost our public schools an average of $290 per suspension, $2900 for ten suspensions and $29,000 for 100 suspension.

Children cannot change a negative behavior without first discovering a new belief system. Parents must study what the child believe about  themself, and why they believe this thought about themself before changes can begin to take place.  Relying on medication as a quick fix for correcting negative behaviors does not work for every child.

The answers to what and why a child believes a certain way is the most powerful resource parents can gather over time for correcting the environment . Once the environment is corrected, parents must move strategically toward assisting their child with developing a new belief system for building stronger self-esteem and confidence.
